Handle with care

Much of our clothing is made from Jute cotton.
Jute cotton is a natural material that can be both strong and delicate, so it is important to wash it gently to protect the fibers and extend its life. Here are some tips for washing jute cotton:

1. Use Cold Water

♥ Always wash jute cotton with cold water to prevent shrinkage and protect the fibers.

2. Hand wash or Gentle Machine wash

Hand washing is the safest option: use a mild soap and let the material soak briefly. Do not scrub too hard, as this can weaken the fibers.

Gentle machine washing is also possible, but choose a delicate wash program and use a washing bag to provide extra protection to the material.

3. Mild Soap

♥ Use a mild, natural soap that is suitable for delicate fabrics. Avoid harsh chemicals and bleaches that can damage the material.

4. Do not rub or wring

♥ Gently squeeze out excess water without wringing or pulling to avoid deformation.

5. Drying Flat

♥ Lay the material flat to dry, preferably on a clean towel to maintain its shape. Jute cotton should be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent discoloration.

These steps will keep your jute cotton looking beautiful and the fibers will last longer.

Our one of a kind pieces are all made from recycled saris. Saris are beautiful, delicate garments that are often made with great care and attention. To maintain the quality and beauty of your sari, it is important to wash them infrequently and wash them properly. Here are some tips for washing saris:

1. Hand Wash Preference

Hand washing is the best way to wash a saree, especially if it is made of delicate fabrics like silk or chiffon. Use cold or lukewarm water and a mild, neutral soap.

♥Fill a sink or bucket with water and add a small amount of soap. Mix the water well.

2. Choose the Right Soap

♥ Use a mild, natural soap or special detergent for delicate fabrics. Avoid harsh chemicals and bleaches.

3. Wash the Sari

♥ Gently immerse the saree in the water and let it soak for a few minutes.

♥ Gently rub the fabric to remove dirt and stains. Avoid hard scrubbing to prevent damage.

4. Rinsing

♥ Rinse the sari thoroughly with cold water to remove all soap residue. Repeat until the water runs clear.

5. Drying process

♥ Gently squeeze out any excess water from the sari, but do not wring it out.

♥ Do not hang the sari in direct sunlight as this may cause discolouration. Lay the sari flat on a clean, dry towel to dry.
